Market Record
A sourced report on the market around your business.
Methodology
How the report is built
Baseline. For a supported city we use the resident count for that municipality's limits from the Statistics Canada 2021 Census. Each report stores the dataset version it used.
Reach scenarios. Baseline × the share you select, rounded to people. They help size a plan; they are not predictions.
Break-even. Your total campaign cost ÷ the contribution from one extra customer after direct costs, rounded up.
Next steps. Chosen from your industry, goal, website status, and budget.

Example
What a Mississauga restaurant sees
A café in Mississauga seeking reservations, with no website and an organic-first budget, sees 717,961 residents (2021), scenarios of 7,180 / 21,539 / 35,898 people at 1% / 3% / 5%, and steps focused on its Google profile, a simple menu page, and a shorter reservation path.
Questions
Common questions
- Is the Market Record free?
- Yes. Answer three short sets of questions, then enter your name, email, and phone to unlock it.
- Where do the numbers come from?
- Municipal resident counts from the Statistics Canada 2021 Census of Population. Each report shows the source and reference year.
- What if my city isn't listed?
- Choose Other city. You'll still get tailored recommendations, and we'll note that a local figure needs a manual review. We never substitute a neighbouring city's numbers.
- I sell to businesses. Does it still help?
- Yes. Business-location counts are only shown where an approved sector dataset exists; otherwise the report gives a plan built for B2B selling.
- Are the reach scenarios forecasts?
- No. They're planning scenarios: the baseline multiplied by a share you choose, starting at 1%, 3%, and 5%.
